Relay for life photography

Why do i support the relay for life in second life. There are a few reasons but mainly its because of this wonderful woman. Fayandria Foley. When I first came into second life i researched everything i could find. Website articles, SL newspapers, etc. Then i found that there was a version of the real world Relay for Life and found that they had raised a damn good amount of money from donations from various people wanting to support a good cause.

When I read about this i told my self, wow, i didn't think that was possible. While exploring second life i ran into Mcdunnoughs Speakeasy and met fay for the first time. Such a great and wonderful personality she has. And one damn smart woman. Eventually i found out that she is the co chair for the Second Life Relay and that her and her partner Jed have been contributing to this great cause. This year there will be a little over 40 sims if i remember right that are being developed to support the relay and have this as an all day event. I was damn impressed.

After getting to know her better i found that they needed someone to take photographs of the various relay events that are taking place in second life. I immediately volunteered for the job. But there is also another reason I volunteered for this event and this strengthened my resolve to help out the best i can.

Toward the end of march i went with her to an area i think was called Camp Kawabata to take pictures for the event . Well this was the first time I have heard her speak officially about the relay and relating to the personal events in her life. You see a while back she was diagnosed with skin cancer (melanoma i think is the name). This changed her life so much and was reflected in her speech .

Just hearing how impassioned she was about this great cause completely won me over to help out as much as i can. She is a great lady that has taken on such an overwhelming cause. Taking on organizing events, talking to sim owners, making sure every detail is in place for the Relay event that will take place on July 28th this year. If you see her be sure to say thank you for supporting a good cause. Thank you for helping fight cancer.
